Last week we had the pleasure of taking a road trip to the Holland Tulip Festival courtesy of Chevrolet. The company loaned us a beautiful 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD and covered our hotel stay at a gorgeous downtown Holland hotel for two nights in order to facilitate this article. Article coming soon.
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD Best in Class Room
The first thing you notice when you step inside the Tahoe is how roomy it is. There is plenty of elbow and head room in each of the seats, as well as plenty of space to store your belongings if you are traveling. As a family of five, we had plenty of room for all of our stuff. We overpacked because Michigan weather can differ so much from day and night.
Seriously, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is so amazing. My girls squealed when they saw the Rear-Seat Media system. “EEEEK we have tablets”. They spent their time on the road playing video games as well as watching their favorite TV shows. An amazing feature is that the back seat passengers can easily see where we are in our journey. Thus eliminating the “Are we there yet?” and “How much longer?” questions.
We decided to stop for lunch along the way. Not only did the girls find a great place to eat, they were also able to send their request to the front console with just a touch of a button. The system then asked if we wanted to add the stop to our route. The system keeps everyone in the car connected with built -in 4G LTW Wifi as well as Apple Carplay and Andriod Auto. Finally, with headphones for the rear seat passengers, it was pretty much silent in the car. We didn’t feel like we had to compete with music or dialog to have a conversation in the front seat. Hubby and I spent some quality time just talking to each other during our drive.
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Power Sliding Console
In addition to all the amazing traditional power features like power windows, mirrors and seats, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe features an amazing power sliding middle console. In it’s home position the console offers a great place to place your phone together with a nice storage space. However, when you activate the power sliding console, it will automatically slide back to up 10 inches. In this position, rear seat passengers can easily access the drink holders. While front passengers have access to a hidden storage drawer and extra space between the seats.
Amazing Safety Features
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe hosts a plethora of active safety features. Some of those features include HD Surround Vision Camera, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert together with Rear Park Assist. When you put the car in reverse, the view is amazing. The virtual images that are displayed make it look like a drone feed. This feature is so helpful, not only in busy parking lots, but also at home with neighborhood children often playing nearby, the cameras make it much easier to spot possible obstacles.
And while the car is very large, there are many features that help you drive and park. One feature is the Lane Keep Assist together with the Lane Departure Warning. These features can make gentle adjustments to the steering wheel to guide you back into your lane should you unintentionally drift. There is also a display on the dash that lets you know when you are within your lane.
You probably know that we take car seat safety very seriously at Metro Detroit Mommy. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to see that each of the five rear seat positions were equipped for a forward facing car seat with top tether anchors. Each of the seats in the second row are equipped with LATCH. The car seat installs were super easy for the most part. I had plenty of room to get into the third row. The one downfall is that the 2nd row headrests are not adjustable or removable, which may cause an issue with some forward facing car seats as well as high backed boosters.
