Berkley Moms’ Night Out
Downtown Berkley will roll out the red carpet for its first-ever Moms’ Night Out from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct 17. During this special one-night event, dozens of participating businesses in the eclectic, mid-century cool city of Berkley, home to many new and longtime independently-owned small shops, will extend hours and offer in-store deals, discounts and demos, as well as complimentary services and activities geared toward pampering moms.
All types of moms are invited to attend this MOMentous occasion, including, but not limited to, stepmoms, pet moms, expectant moms and future moms. Husbands, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, friends and coworkers are welcome to join in on the fun as well.
“Moms’ Night Out is an opportunity to celebrate mom and treat her to a special night on the town in Downtown Berkley with the women and men who support her,” said Jennifer Finney, Berkley DDA’s marketing committee chair. “This is the latest in the Downtown Berkley Nights Out series sponsored by the Berkley DDA. We encourage moms from all around metro Detroit to explore, indulge and enjoy Downtown Berkley’s array of retail and dining establishments and other unique offerings.”
SETTING THE MOOD
The evening kicks off with happy hour at participating restaurants and bars, which will include, among other offerings, custom cocktails created specifically for Moms’ Night Out and drink specials at restaurants and bars, including Amici’s Pizza & Living Room, Bagger Dave’s, Berkley Common, J’s Bar and Grill, and more.
Next on the list is a stop at Twice Around Antiques, a boutique that offers a selection of antiques and furniture. Moms and their squads can have fun accessorizing their outfits with fun props at the official Moms’ Night Out selfie station to capture this MOMent.
From here, attendees can enjoy strolling musicians along 12 Mile Road and Coolidge Highway, courtesy of the Detroit Violin Company and McCourts Music Group, on their way to meet some of the evening’s other special guests, including Amber Louchart and her team from Metro Detroit Mommy, who will be on-site for a meet and greet and Q & A hosted by Toadvine Books. They can enjoy hands-on activities throughout the evening at June and December, a specialty home décor shop. The shop will offer “make and take” flower crowns and a meet and greet opportunity with artist Melissa Byle of Tangled Creative, who is known for her multipurpose, multimedia weavings, and wall tapestries.
Mom can stay on trend with the cool and stylish fashions by taking a front row seat at a fashion show presented by Me2U Boutique & Gifts. During Moms’ Night Out, there also will be fashion-related promotions at shops such as Peggendott Design Studio, and Sum Girls Boutique. Complimentary hair styling consultations will be available at Chemistry Salon.
Moms can indulge in a variety of complimentary services and offerings, including a free 10-minute massage at Eternal Balance Holistic Life Center. They can enjoy decadent treats courtesy of Sydney Boggs Sweet Essentials by visiting Folio Offices, a premiere co-working space playing host to the official Moms’ Night Out Lounge from

Mittens for Detroit will have a donation drop off location on 12 Mile Road and one on Coolidge Highway, and 25 percent of tips from the musicians will also be donated.
