Wayne County Family Aquatic Center Opens Memorial Day Weekend

20th season of summer fun and swimming commences at Chandler Park

Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans welcomes citizens and visitors to the opening weekend of the Wayne County Family Aquatic Center on Saturday, May 26, 2018.  The park will be open during the Memorial Day weekend Saturday-Monday from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Wayne County’s largest family water park sits on more than 22,000 square feet of beautifully landscaped grounds on Detroit’s eastside. The facility features a wave pool, two super-sized water slides, a children’s pool play land, a sundeck/picnic area and much more. Visitors can sign up for morning swimming lessons, book birthday parties or group reservations and enjoy fun programming such as the “World’s Largest Swim Lesson” and “Back to School Splash Party”.
“As we anticipate opening for our 20th season, we encourage families to come out and experience all that our park has to offer,” said Beverly J. Watts, Director of the Department of Public Services. “The Wayne County Aquatic Center provides families and visitors a clean, safe and fun environment to create wonderful summer memories.”
