Bounce House – Sterling Heights

Find over 20 other inflatable play spaces on our round up page.

Every day on my way to Evan’s house I see the Bounce House on Van Dyke and 17 Mile in Sterling Heights.  Rosa loves to jump, so naturally I wanted to check it out, but thought it would be a little much with two toddlers in tow.

Well, Damian (my 15 year old son) had the day off on Monday, so I figured we could check it out, two toddlers, two supervisors, should be fine, right?

Firstly, the cost is a little much.  The posted cost is $10 per child and $5 per adult.  That tallies up to $30 for our group.  I was then informed that 1 adult could be admitted for free with each child, so we paid $20 for 90 minutes of play.  I was not happy about the time limit or the cost.  Other play centers do not have a time restriction, but we decided to check it out anyway.  (They offer coupons online, the employee said they will accept them even though they say they are expired)

Rosa and Evan had a great time playing on some of the bouncers.  There were least 8 different inflatables along with a ton of free video games, a ride on car, horse and a Little Tyke’s car.  They also have a ton of cubbies, hooks for coats, party areas and a place to eat.

Two ball related inflatables were along the entrance wall.  Rosa and Evan enjoyed the first one that contained several large tennis ball like balls to throw around.  The second inflatable had basketball hoops, volleyball and a couple other game capabilities.

Rosa really enjoyed the large slide that was situated right by the entrance.  At almost 22 months, she had some difficulty the first time she climbed it, but after that she managed just fine.   She went down the slide several times before moving onto the toddler bounce.

Between the slide and toddler bounce was a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em type bounce.  There were inflatable punching gloves in the arena style bounce.  Rosa and Evan spent a little bit of time in the toddler bounce.  The sign displayed that it was intended for ages 4 and under.  There was a little slide and a few other items.  The children bounced for a few minutes before moving on to the two riding toys.

Rosa and Evan spent a majority of their 90 minutes of play in the electronic car or on the mechanical horse.  The two Chuckie Cheese style rides were free (bonus), so I had to laugh when both children repeatedly asked me for coins or money to make it work.

After riding the toys, they went off to check out the whole row of video games along the back wall.  This, I have to say is their saving grace.  all the video games are free.  The children (including my 15 year old) enjoyed playing basket ball games, Frogger, car games and more.  Rosa went off to check out a couple other bouncers, while Evan and Damian played video games.

Rosa went into the obstacle course bouncer and easily made it 2/3 the way through until she hit the climbing wall.  She got most of the way up, before she decided she was done and dropped back down.  It was a little more advanced than her skill level.  I think had she understood my directions, she could have made it to the top, but she was frustrated and got scared.

She moved on to another bouncer that had a giant hill inside.  She climbed the hill several times and slid down the side.  There was another obstacle bouncer to try, but the children were worn out by then and our time was done.

Overall, the place was very clean and well maintained.  I think this would be a great place for children that are a little bit older.  I would have liked to see some sort of discount for toddlers, $10 per child is a little pricey for limited time and limited use.  We were lucky that the place was very slow the day we went, because Rosa and Evan would not have been able to navigate the bouncers if other children were bouncing too.
