The play structure at Avis Park hosts many different and unusual elements which challenged all three of my girls. A couple of the elements were too difficult for Naomi (age 3). Carlyn and Rosa (ages 6 and 9) were able to navigate the structure with no issues. The playground is designed for children ages 5 to 12 with a nice variety of activities.
This musical panel kept Rosa busy for some time as she tried to use the notes provided to play a song. (Not a lot you can do with 6 notes… )
All three of the children enjoyed this smaller version of a merry-go-round. It was a bit difficult to get moving, and it didn’t go very fast, but regardless, they loved it.
In addition to the play structure, the tot lot has a few swings available too.
The basketball courts appear to be in the midst of a construction project. But the space promises to provide hours of fun for its visitors.
There are a few benches about the play area.
Avis Park in Sterling Heights is 9.5 acres and is full of trees that provide a nice shade for its visitors. Overall this is a great neighborhood park.
